Marie Helen Aljets, daughter of Harm and Minnie (Feeken) Aljets, was born February 10, 1925 in Iona, MN. She grew up in Luverne, MN, where she graduated from high school.

Marie was united in marriage to Richard Boots Clark on December 22, 1945 in Luverne. The couple then made their home in Sioux Falls. In addition to being a loving homemaker and mother, Marie worked at John Morrell, Downtown Lewis Drug Store and Raven Industries. For many years Marie and Boots owned and operated the South Soo Tavern. Richard preceded her in death on September 17, 2004.

She enjoyed baking, flowers, working in her garden and crocheting. Marie was a long-time member of the V.F.W. Post 628 Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Sheryl (Gale) Murray, Sioux Falls,
Richard (Ellen) Clark Jr., Des Moines, IA, Donna Engle. Carlton, WA, Terri Lynn (Rik) Thomson, Rolesville, NC, Tony Clark, Sioux Falls, SD, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Marge Gunter, Chamberlain, SD, Ray (Audrey) Aljets, Brandon, SD, Minnie (Dean) Axtell, Sioux Falls, Darlene Aljets, Trent, SD, and a sister in-law. Etoyle Aljets, Valley Springs, SD.

Her parents, son Mike, daughter Lisa Marie and brother, Henry, also preceded her in death.
