Louise Goldie, lifelong resident of Sioux Falls, SD, died July 17, 2010, at Dougherty Hospice House, surrounded by her family. She was 72

Louise May Brooks was born May 15, 1938, in Sioux Falls, SD to Myrle and Lillian (Peterson) Brooks. She attended Washington High School. Following her education, Louise began working in the family business, Palisades Café.

She was united in marriage to Robert Goldie on April 19, 1959, in Sioux Falls. In addition to being a homemaker and loving mother to her children, she continued working at the café until 1972. Later, she began working part time in the office at Sears, a position that eventually became full time. She retired from Sears in 2004. Robert preceded her in death on November 7, 1996.

Lousie will be long remembered for her selfless gift to those in need of care. Throughout her life she remained a devoted wife, mother, daughter, and sister.

Following her retirement, Louise enjoyed the free time spending time with her children, grandchildren, and friends. She adored children, and looked forward to every moment spent with the grandkids. She looked forward to the arrival of her future great-grandchild in winter, 2011. Blessed with an outgoing spirit, her memory will be forever cherished.

Grateful for having shared her life are her sons, Jeffrey Goldie and his wife, Georgianne, Sioux Falls, SD, Philip Goldie, Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Karalee Kubik and her husband, Dallas, Pierre, SD; grandchildren, Luke, Dalton, Caitlin, Savannah, Karoline, Matthew; sister, Shirley Wilcox, Sioux Falls, SD; and special friends, Joan Hanus, and Audrey and Clayton Jarrott. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Nutt.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main Avenue, with interment at Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Tuesday evening.
