Lila E. Warner
October 15, 1930 - July 18, 2013





Lila Elaine Warner, age 82, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at her home in Brookings. A graveside service will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Hills of Rest Memorial Park in Sioux Falls. A memorial service will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Faith United Presbyterian Church in Brandon, SD.

Lila Elaine Lamb was born on October 15, 1930 in Quinn, South Dakota to Edgar Allie Lamb and Emma Rose Hartmann. She was one of three children born to the couple. As a child, Lila grew up in Quinn, Valley Springs (attending school grades 1-3), and Sioux Falls (attending school grades 4-10). She graduated from Quinn High School in 1948 as Valedictorian of her class. On January 26, 1950, Lila married Glen Clayton Warner in San Diego, CA. The couple moved often due to Glenís duties in the US Navy. They lived in Lead, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington before moving to Sioux Falls in 1963, then Brandon in 1964.

Lila stayed busy with her children as a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Scout Den Mother, and Boy Scout transporter. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent, Bible study leader, commissioner to the Presbytery and Synod, and Presbyterian Women programmer, secretary and president.

Grateful for having shared her life are her children Nancy (Howard) Ladner of Austin, TX, Wayde Warner of Wentworth, SD, Denise (James) Mayer of Hazel, SD, and Stacey (Kristi) Warner of Britton, SD; daughters-in-law, Virginia Warner of Lakeside, CA and Barb Warner of South Point, OH; grandchildren, Joslyn (Mike) Mogonye, Allan Mayer, Kenneth Mayer, Clayton Warner, Tabor Warner, James Warner, Elizabeth Warner, Michael Warner, Mary Ann Warner, and Kristi Warner; great grandchildren, Mason, Jaden, Kelsie, Jonathan, Isaac, and Raven.

Lila was preceded in death by her husband, Glen; sons, Mitchell Warner and Aaron Warner; brother, Dean Lamb; sister, Eileen Lamb; parents, Edgar and Emma Lamb.
