Lorraine J. Ellis
July 11, 1931 - November 25, 2017

Lorraine Jacqueline Ellis was born on July 11, 1931 to Fred and Blanche Robnett in Albia, Iowa. Heaven called her home November 25, 2017.

She and George united in marriage on July 7, 1950 on a very warm day. “You really have to work at a marriage, both partners, plus the Lord.”

George and Lorraine brought 5 great kids into this world, and they in turn brought 5 great bonus kids, their spouses. There are now 13 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and counting… “You realize what is really important in life is not the material things, but the Lord and the wonderful family He has given us.”

George and Lorraine raised their family first in Ottumwa, Iowa, while both were working for John Morrell and Co. In 1973, with the Ottumwa Plant closing, they moved to Sioux Falls, SD where George continued to work for Morrell’s. Lorraine enjoyed volunteering and taking part time jobs where she made many lifetime friends.

George and Lorraine’s faith is ever present and strengthened weekly at East Side Baptist Church.

Blessed are we who have known her great love: husband George Ellis, brother Monte (Marilyn) Robnett, children Dennis and Cindy Ellis, Doug and Celeste Ellis, Dan and Char Ellis, Donovan (Jody) and Carrie Ellis, Darci and John Ridge. Grandchildren: Erika, Sam (Carrie), Jeremy, Colton, Cale, Zachary, Jordan, Megan (Grant), Jen (Cody), Devon, Casey (Brittney), Destinee (Heath), Britni. Great Grandchildren: Brandon, Tucker, Brayden, Boeden, Jayde, Pryce, Harlow.
