Charlotte Jean “Char” Sadowski, the daughter of Bernard and Elizabeth (Wagenaar) Fursee was born December 14, 1944 in Vermillion, SD.
Char loved music and dancing, especially Polka music. She enjoyed going out to eat, playing cards, doing crosswords, and going on road trips. Char was active in volunteer work, including donating blood. Her generosity was well known, with not only her time but her belongings. Char also had a passion for reading and researching at the library. She loved going on walking tours of local cemeteries and learning the history of the decedents. Char also was faithful at visiting the graves of her loved ones that preceded her in death.
Char was very dedicated to her family, friends, and grandchildren. She was a tremendous sister, mother, daughter, and grandmother and could be counted on when someone needed her. In fact, Char was the designated preparer of potato salad and scalloped corn at picnics. She fiercely loved her family and loved ones without hesitation.
Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters, Rhonda Lucal and Angela Sadowski, both of Sioux Falls; a son, Dan Papenheim of Sioux Falls; two grandsons, Nathan Yeigh and Cody Montileaux; her mother, Elizabeth Fursee of Sioux Falls; two sisters, Theresa (Darrel) Wessels of Luverne, MN, Ruth (Lee) Rosenquist of Sioux Falls; her former spouse and good friend, James Sadowski of Sioux Falls; a special friend, Sharion Ilse of Sioux Falls; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard.
