Alma A. Forrette
November 30, 1916 - January 30, 2010

Alma Forrette, Sioux Falls, SD, died January 30, 2010, at Southridge Health Care Center. She was 93.

Alma A. (Jensen) Forrette was born November 30, 1916, in Irene, SD, to Lars and Nellie (Bjerstrum) Jensen. She was raised in the area and moved to Sioux Falls as a young woman.

Alma was united in marriage to Eugene Forrette in the 1950s. In addition to being a loving mother and homemaker, Alma worked as a waitress. For over three decades, she worked as a personal housekeeper. Alma retired in 1984. Eugene preceded her in death on February 2, 2002.

Alma loved baking and made delicious cookies and pies. She always looked forward to the summer months when she and the family would spend time at their lake home at Lake Poinsett, SD. She loved entertaining her grandchildren and in her free time, liked tending to their vegetable garden.

Quiet and reserved, Alma was blessed with a goodhearted spirit. Her graciousness and generosity will be forever cherished.

Grateful for having shared her life are her daughter, Mona Thie, Mesa, AZ; sister-in-law, Emma Jensen, Sioux Falls; grandchildren, Jennifer Schmitt, Joseph Thie, Maggie Dobberpuhl, April Thie, Joshua Thie; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to Eugene, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Annie Peterson and Agnes Jensen; two brothers, Alfred and Wilmer Jensen; and a grandson, Jonathan.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm. Tuesday at Miller Funeral Home, 13th and Main Avenue, with interment at Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 11:00 am Monday.
