John Munce, 59, of Sioux Falls, died Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his residence of natural causes.

John Kenneth Munce was born April 10, 1950 at Sioux Falls, SD. He grew up in Sioux Falls where he received his education, graduating from Washington High School. Throughout his life, John enjoyed engaging in real estate transactions, including buying and selling property. He also liked to buy and sell cars, and enjoyed attending car show events. John was a people person and loved visiting with them, engaging people in conversation. He also liked spending time at Lake Okoboji where he had been involved with property transactions.

John attended Faith Temple church and was highly involved with Faith Temples food pantry food donation project.

He was employed in the meat packing industry, having worked at a packing facility in Sioux City, IA, and also at the John Morrell Plant in Sioux Falls.

Grateful for having shared his life are his mother, Lillian Munce, of St. Louis, MO; his sister, Dorothy Robertson of Denver, CO; and his brothers, Elroy “Sonny” (Sandy) Munce of St. Louis, MO, Harry “Jim” (Sherrie) Munce of North Platte, NE, Gerald “Jerry” (Kaye) Munce of Florence, AZ, and Richard “Rick” (LaNette) Munce of Sioux Falls, SD. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, ahd his aunts, Adeline Donaldson, Dorothy Swier, and Bette Munce, all of Sioux Falls, and Audrey Ahrendt living in Oregon. He was preceded in death by his father, Elroy Munce, Sr. in 1992.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday at Faith Temple Church. Interment will be in Hills of Rest Memorial Park. Visitation with the family present will be from 7:00 to 8:00 pm Monday at Miller West Funeral Chapel.
